http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z3Zsvml57PE is a video describing how to learn more about the Mormon Church.

During a cold and snowy week in late January, tens of thousands gathered at the Conference Center in downtown Salt Lake City to honor the life and service of President Gordon B. Hinckley, and to say farewell to the 15th President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

And two days after the funeral services, the new First Presidency was announced. President Thomas S. Monson assumed the responsibility of global leadership of the Church as its new prophet, while the First Presidency welcomed a new face from the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles.

But first, the passing of President Hinckley at age 97. It happened at his home in Salt Lake City on Sunday evening, January 27, 2008 where he was surrounded by family members. In the days that followed, people from many different walks of life crowded together by the thousands at the Conference Center just across the street from Temple Square. They came to pay their respect to President Hinckley, while his body lay in repose inside this monumental gathering place for the Church, which was planned and constructed under the direction of President Hinckley.

State and national flags in Utah were flown at half-staff and for two days the Conference Center became the setting for an outpouring of respect and gratitude for the longest living prophet and president in the Church's history, a man that is remembered for his actions, his compassion and his vision.
