Nice playing. Try sitting on a seat that allows your upper legs to be horizontal.

That's basically what I wanted to say. Actually I've just tested one his new Dragonskin modells and I must say that this is really great stuff. Certainly there are many other excellent bodhranmakers around, but to call him a rip-off is utterly absurd and nonsense.

..but from the sound, Mr O'Kane obviously has many skin curing techniques, that he has not shared with the immitators: i.e. they simply are not O'Kane bodhráns.

I wouldn't be too hard on Christian. He makes excellent drums with different skintypes, not only lambegs. His production quality and his handtuningsystem are quite unique. I wouldn't give away my O'Kane, but I've played several instruments that were very close.

is it possible to post on this?

Yes, you can. Most active members are also english speaking and I think there has just been introduced a purely english section...You're certainly welcome to post. It might be an idea to register first though. :D

Hi,
Did you change out the tuning blocks and hardware on the drum in this video? I am familiar with the design and materials Seamus uses and what you have there does not look like the norm. Interested to hear about it.
Thanks!
