None of my ACDs liked water when they first got in, but now they all love it. We toss the ball off our docks and they leap in after it. It's super cute.
my acd pup got a fright when he fell into water. He had only ever been through puddles before that but he is a big boy now, nearly 9 months old, and he loves water.
he''s a proper swimmer now. Acd pups are so cute, i can see how people are attracted to them but make sure you know what you are letting yourself in for before considering getting one. They like plenty attention. sometimes a clap and cuddle is enough, sometimes they want everything. Socialise early too.
Our younger Heeler Gypsy is the real swimmer. We'll go down to the local river (at a pond-like offset point we found), throw in tennis balls, and she will swim and swim after them. Our older Heeler Jester just hates water. If the ball he's after goes in deeper water, he will just stare and bark at it.
at least he knows what hes lookin at now that shits wet

You train a lot of ACDs to swim? I'm guessing no.

IDK? Are you really supposed to just toss em into deepish water without a trusted human in there.
