    RahXephon wasn't really that similar to Evangelion at all, in fact. There are certainly some overt influences, but nothing of the core of the show,

    Yeah. The cast is so different, it's not even funny. At their heart, almost all of the characters in RahXephon are good people (the exceptions being Bahbem, Makoto, Kuki, and Helena). In Evangelion, a lot of the cast is selfish and horrible.
