As Captain Beefheart's lead guitarist and manager after Zoot left, Gary Lucas is sheer genius right up there with Zappa, Hendrix, Vai. His early solo albums are absolutely without parallel (Busy Being Born, Street of Lost Brothers, Paradiso, Skeleton at the Feast, Evangeline). I think he has contributed to the lack of recognition that plagues his career - but one day.....
