  • Someone should build a monument to this great woman. Please, come and perform in the UK.

  • this is absolutely brilliant. too bad i just dont like patti lupone after hearing her outburst during gypsy.

  • @mvezza that's what i love about her.

  • does anyone know where I can find THIS version of sheet music? I love it and want to do it for an MT audition! If anyone knows i would reeeeally appreciate it!!

  • Love that she sings the original stage lyrics rather than the G rated recorded versions of Ella et al. They were meant to be scandalous and Lupone does that well.

  • This is music; she does not need to speak of how 'sticks and stones excite her' or how she wants someone to 'poke-her-face'

She needn't dress like a skank to be noticed, back then, it was as simple as having a good voice. Music has gone to hell these days.

  • Singing in key of A flat.

  • I love what she is wearing! Makes her look even more fab!

  • If ever a person was born to be on Broadway...

  • @mvezza even though Ella Fitzgerad's version (and everything she ever recorded) remains to me the standard by which to judge all others, I cannot fault Patti Lupone's interpretation of this song_ It it very engaging and neither overwhelms nor takes away in any form from the placement of this piece in either it's context within the play or as a set piece as presented.
