Unbelievable! My moms NAMED ME after this guy, and I never, ever heard him until THIS MOMENT! My middle name is DARNELL. My mom is long gone (1991). She woulda FLIPPED over this thing called da internet! Thanks for posting. Let me go listen to these other tunes from my namesake. RACE RECORDS is what these were called at the time. Blacks were not yet allowed to record on white lables. I was born 12-23-60. Wow!

It's amazing to me that he really only had pretty much one year of chart success, then nothing at all afterwards. First time I've ever seen any kind of footage on him, and this really swings!
