I took felipesanches' python code and re-wrote the graphics parts to use Python's OpenGL bindings. My version, for no important reason, draws lines from too animated points to each of the scope dots.

The code is here:

  • We used to have fancy persistence in our version but took it out when we added the lasers because it didn't fit the laser metaphor.

  • do you still have that code? I would appreciate it

  • The code is linked from the video description.

  • I'd make a comment but im too busy having a seizure

  • really cool!

I wonder how could we make it a single beam and make the dots be greenish. It would be analogous to a real oscilloscope, but similar to a lasershow presentation. Also, it would be great to have some fog, if possible :-D

When we (me and Leandro Lameiro) implemented the emulator, we have thought about using OpenGL to emulate phosphor persistence on the osciloscope screen. But we have no knowledge on GL programming. Do you know how to code that neon effects?
