Truly one of the greatest songs of all time. Dire Straits deserve so much more recognition for their wonderfully understated expressiveness. Their songs speak volumes more than the frantic efforts of so many other wannabe 'popstarzz'!

This was the best album back in 1985 for me. This album opened my eyes to great songwriting, music, and great videos like this one. This song has some of the best lyrics I've ever heard. ...."and we have just one world....but we live in different ones". Hard to beat lyrics like that.

In case you did not get it, this song is about camaderie with everyone, regardless who they are forced to fight with, your "side" or against your "side". All "brothers in arms". "And it's full to make war on our borthers in arms". Hopefully then one day nobody will have to have good or bad experiences with any military anymore.
