@wee1d5 I was actually referring to Beefheart,s work rather that his off stage antics, Morrison may have been a nutcase off stage but it didn't get him very far. From what I have read about him he was an obnoxious drunk. Beefheart made up to a point, outstanding and original albums, not always by his own doing by the admission of some of his musicians but like you said he created a lot of myths.

@TheChrisrg lol nah man he was much less original, beefheart made loads of myths about his life, which i think its pretty cool but its not original at all, whereas jim morrison was only acting on stage, he really was a nutcase off the stage

I don't think anyone can compare Jim Morrison to Captain Beefheart, Beefheart was far more original, better voice too.
