1974 Pinkpop
A live performance of Mirror Man from the Dutch music festival, Pinkpop. The recording, however, is not synched with the band performing, but doesn't mean it's any less enjoyable.

  • @wee1d5 I was actually referring to Beefheart,s work rather that his off stage antics, Morrison may have been a nutcase off stage but it didn't get him very far. From what I have read about him he was an obnoxious drunk. Beefheart made up to a point, outstanding and original albums, not always by his own doing by the admission of some of his musicians but like you said he created a lot of myths.

  • @TheChrisrg lol nah man he was much less original, beefheart made loads of myths about his life, which i think its pretty cool but its not original at all, whereas jim morrison was only acting on stage, he really was a nutcase off the stage

  • I don't think anyone can compare Jim Morrison to Captain Beefheart, Beefheart was far more original, better voice too.

  • Don was his own planet.

  • I think Captain Beefheart was from the same "planet" as Jim Morrison. Ahhh, those psychedelic times. O_o

  • great stuff!

  • Awesome vid, never heard this recording before, thanks for posting! But... How high is that stage?????!

  • The sequence where the (Tarot-)plane comes in is "magistral" !

THANK YOU SO MUCH for sharing.

    Thank you Don*.

    W'all know you're 'round.

(* also for saying a few words to me @ Passage44, Brussels, 1974)
