Use of our T1-16 Tactical Assault Ascender in combination with Hook-on poles. Video shot in our 1000m2 Trainingcentre in the Netherlands. This is how we use the Ascender to board ships or get a team onto a roof (tactical urban ops).
First you hook on a rope. The first operator rides the rope and climbs over the edge using a small ladder on a hook; fixes the ascender to the structure and secures the area. (Of course you can also do this with a line thrower). The next operator uses a rope ascender (mechanical chest ascender) to connect to the rope to the harness and rides up using the remote control. The rest of the team is than winched up (remote used by a team member). The operators have their hands free to operate a weapon. Last operator winches up himself...
Can be used for ship boarding and urban access scenario's.
