1986 Wellcraft Scarab used in the filming of the Miami Vice TV show. This boat was up for auction September 25th by Mecum Auctions. Auction was to take place in Fontana, WI.

  • totalsalessolutions: probably one of the drives is not engaged - you can engage the drives indepently.

Hot80s - not my boat, but wish it was! Although I prefer the Chris Craft Stingers.

  • Didnt really want to bring her to the show but was asked by Mecum to do so. It was a real draw to the show. This was completly the WRONG VENUE for this machine. The rain (no fault of the auction)as you can se in this vid did not help either. I was told (and relayed to many) the boat would cross the block between two and three. It crossed at 12:15 and I all but missed it.

  • @KNUCLESTICK Sorry to hear about how Mecum handled the auction. I guess I thought better of them. It was odd to us to see the boat surrounded by the wooden boats, even if there were a couple of other offshore powerboats. Beautiful boat by the way - went to Fontana specifically to see it. Would have like to have seen more of it, but you were busy at the time - I was the guy asking about the camera mounting holes on Saturday.

  • High bid was $52,000 but reserve must have been higher as it did not sell.

  • @ccstinger me to ;)

  • why is one prop turning but not the other?

  • What a beauty. Do you ever get the time to take her out? How is a 1986 offshore in terms of upkeep?

  • i wanna ride to i love the show

  • What engine have? Sounds great

  • Thanks for even showing it!

  • Out of 70 boats at the event, Mecum sold only 15. Due to the lack of bidders, none of the boats brought what they were worth. This, sadly, instills a low percieved value on this machine. Anyone who has seen it in person knows better. Good thing is, it does not need to be sold and looks great in my shop.
