It's just like a movie trailer. Especially with the dramatic music. Love the tower; I'm sure your friends did too!

I don't understand the point of macaroon towers

Hi! The tempered chocolate - did it stick to the macarons and give them all of a slight chocolate flavor - or did it stick more to the aluminum....trying to place macarons on a square structure. don't want to use toothpicks as I feel it breaks the macarons? Thanks.

@sukainar1 Yes, the couverture sticks to the macaron. It easily separates from the aluminum foil so the macarons will not break.

Can you tell me more about how you made your tower? What is it constructed out of and wide and tall is it? Did you find the tempered chocolate sturdy enough? I know some attached them using the toothpick method.

@foreignfilmfan The tower was about 50 cm in height. The diameter of the base was 26 cm. It's made from paperboard covered with aluminum foil. The tempered chocolate worked very well. For the toothpick method, you would need a large styrofoam cone... I didn't have one at that time. :)

what is it you used to stick the macarons to the cone? ganache?

@humblepie85 Ganache would have melted (it was a hot day). I used tempered chocolate.
