Brilliant. I saw him on his tour in Oxford this summer and he tells the same funny great story about the brief case although he doesn't say it was Eric's he says it was his.

Yes, and that became public knowledge later, though by the time of this interview, Sinclair was already deceased. Apparently I think he served in the RAF or the Navy during WW2, and while Cleese and Booth acknowledged this, it sounds like the Man was a totally unfit Hotelier.
Indeed, history often repeats itself.He talked about the same thing on Parki in 2003.
God bless Cleese. He's a living legend.
