Thaara Rang Mahal Mein

In 2003, Kabir's music came alive in the unlikely context of North America, with Malwi folk singer Prahlad Tipanya presenting a performance tour, organized by the scholar Dr. Linda Hess. This tour has been documented in the film 'Ajab Shahar' in which live performances of 12 folk songs of Kabir are interwoven with glimpses of this unusual journey, in which rural Indian singers encounter a strange country -- a land as ajab (wondrous) as the self Kabir urges us to investigate.
