  • i was at that concert. it was awesome (with or without the original lineup)

  • Fantastic show! It sucked that Jane couldn't be there, but Eve Monsees, the gal they had fill in, did a great job! Can you imagine, "Can you fill in for Jane Wiedlin?"

  • I don't know about young Eve but to infer she can top Charlotte and above all Jane is audacious indeed. She was born when the Go-Go's were selling millions, so she'll have to work harder and for longer to compare I reckon.

  • If nothing else this song lacks Janes voice, you can tell it's not her straight away.

  • The magic of the group in a large part rested with the chemistry between Belinda Carlisle and Jane Wiedlin... to me the Go Go's without Jane is like REO Speedwagon without Gary Richrath. Just my opinion. The fill in girl is okay but, she wasn't there to live the music... I mean, somewhere in some landfill are copies of Rolling Stone magazine with the Go Go's posing on the front cover in their underwear.

  • Belleza total Belinda!!! hermosa. estoy enamorado de ti. y cantas como los angeles!!!

  • Ever is definately a great player. She gigs in the Austin area with her band the Exiles. She is also in The Bluebonnets with Kathy Valentine.

  • Ok that was a WICKED second guitar solo from Eve...shit..wasn't expecting that..

  • Lol I was at this concert with my gf and her brother....we love Belinda :)

  • BTW, if you like the Go-Go's, search "Berlin Metropol 1982" on YT. There's "Tonite" and "Lust to Love" -- which sound better than the studio version, in my opinion -- and a couple of other songs. I highly recommend it.

  • Yeah. I thought about that too. I've seen the other Go-Go's at Orlando 2008 clips, and this is the only song I saw where Eve does that. With the others it's strictly rhythm. BTW, it didn't work out too well when BC asks the audience to sing Jane's part. In a subsequent non-Jane show, KV sings Jane's part, which worked out much better.

  • I've seen Eve playing (on YT) and she seems to be a great talent, but the accomplished guitar solo she played on 2:50 is so good it outperforms Go-Go's style; she's got her own place doing it as her own band's leader.

I hope to hear from Eve in the future.

  • Okay, maybe I didn't word that right. I didn't mean that she "can top" Jane, as you put it. So much goes into such a performance. There's singing, instrument playing, song-writing contribution, and on-stage persona. Jane's got all of that, which is her part of what people pay to see. But she's no guitar virtuoso. Again, go to 2:50. Eve is clearly a better guitarist than Jane.
