horsepower sells cars torque wins races

$45k is actually pretty cheap for a full season, especially considering what it would cost to do a season in other series. No one ever said racing was cheap (especially road course racing)...

I got the street version of the TDI Cup Edition, and it's quite speedy! Very fun car to own

u could try to find a sponsor to pay for you...if they know your good!

Still prefer the sound of pretrol engines

i agree...for a series that gets national TV coverage like this, is arrive & drive, racing in front of ALMS teams, and is supported by a huge manufacturer like VW, it is very cheap compared to say Koni Challenge....but then again, i don't have a famous last name and i don't have rich parents like many of the other guys in the series.

@DrDenisSaralho compared to other forms of motorsport, yes it was. zero carbon output, 95% reduced emissions and 25mpg @ over 100mph on track. let's see any other internal combustion racing series put up better numbers.

For 35k I can build my own car, start a team and do SCCA & NASA regionals.

@Soprano313 you can, but it would just be regionals and you wouldn't have teh type of exposure VW & SCCA pro racing had.
