While on a diving holiday in Menorca, in July of 2007, one of my dive buddies had an encounter with a cheeky octopus, this video shows the encounter complete with subtitles of what each party may have been thinking.

I'm actually really surprised the Octopous had the courage, nay, THE TEMERITY, to attack! When i was in Majorca, i was snorkeling, and came face to face with one, and we both were all "WTF?! *Inks/poos self* :p

Hehe. They have quite a range of character - from my experience - so you could come across one that would flee at the sight of you and another that would try and have your flipper. On one dive I had one follow me for 10 minutes before I lost track of it.
