Many projects that have been completed within the Balangoda Pradeshiya Sabha Authority area have been vested in the public. The Local Authority Division in the Ratnapura District, is located on the boundary of the Moneragala District. It was earlier a very remote village. The opening of many development projects which were a dire need to the area took place recently under the patronage of Sabaragamuwa Chief Minister Mahipala Herath. Facilities have been provided to the Ellepola Vidyalaya and a new Laboratory to the Kongahamankada School. A new Regional Health Service Office has been set up at the Kaltota Hospital. In addition a water supply scheme has been commissioned. Rural Health Centres were opened at Kirimetitenna and Medabedda. A Rural Bank was also opened at the Mini Coop City.

These are of immense need for the public in their day to day lives. In addition to meeting the needs of school children, health services have also been upgraded.
