These were former Dover elevators installed in 1981, but got overhauled in 2008 by Schindler. All that remains of these Dovers is the cab and the exterior doors. This includes the motor, which effectively makes these elevators Schindler. The cab interiors, although not original from 1981, are from when these elevators were Dover (although these can pass as new cab interiors, that's probably why they opted not to renovate them). These cabs were most likely done during the hotel's previous major renovation, which took place in the mid 1990s, but they could have been done as late as 2003 (when I first stayed here).

Installed: 1981/2008
Speed: 500 FPM
Travel Distance: 10 floors
Fixtures: EPCO Survivor Plus

  • @ih8thyssenkrupp There is a 400A model Schindler offers that is not MRL and can go up to 500 FPM.

  • @SchindlerHaughton i don't believe so. i believe the 500A otis-like chimes have been discontinued, since more modern schindler 500A's appear to have the 400A chimes
