They are left outside, cold and alone, chained to trees or poles on rusted links of metal. They have no protection from the frigid winds, no shelter from the temperature, nothing to shield them from the falling snow. It is a terrible and lonely existence, and it is a sad reality for far too many dogs here in the metro Detroit area.

But when the temperatures drop, that's when the Michigan Humane Society's Emergency Rescue team is at their busiest, and you're what helps keep them on the road.

Please give.

  • @joone08 Check out the video "Dog houses, bedding and cold weather by dogboy" for some good warm doghouses.

  • @joone08 Get over it, dogs are ANIMALS, they don't have to be inside. It's important that dogs have a WARM, INSULATED dog house with straw, maybe even a heating lamp (but not too hot or it can be a fire hazard with the straw, and making sure the electrical cord is not where the dog can chew it!) and if you don't take care of your dog and it freezes, you should be dragged out in the snow and beaten to a bloody pulp with a baseball bat. But keeping your dog outside is not mean or cruel.

  • People that chain their dogs outside should be chained outside. Cant believe the idiots that are out there.
