Home built motor with electro magnet at base, and 2 permanent magnets on axel. Disc on axel is used to reverse polarity of electro magnet every half turn. This motor was based on inspiration of YouTube posting from Helicat. Thank you to Helicat for the inspiration and idea!

If you are serious about building a magnetic motor. You should look in to something called diamagnetic pyrolytic carbon. It repels both poles of a magnet. should come in handy as a magnetic insulator.

Abrin19 - Thank you again for your great suggestions... I am completely unfamiliar with diamagnetic pyrolytic carbon. If you care to elaborate, I would be interested how this could be used. (Or if you just want to direct me to any internet sites that describe it further, that would be great!)

    Thanks!

if you make a new motor of the same principle and make the axel go flat like a clock facing up on the table. you dont have to loose power from gravity. nice work.

Abrin19- Thank you for the comment. I agree with your suggestion - great idea. Have you looked at electric motor posted by Helicat? I am thinking about building that version, in the next few months. Thanks again. Down0041

how long does it take for batteries to run out or do they go forever

I don't know how long the batteries will last, because I have only ran it a total of 10 minutes. I have a separate issue, that carbon scoring builds up on my alumimum foil commutators. After about 2 minutes of running, the motor loses about half (if not more) of it's effectiveness. I would not build this the same way again. I would probably do Helicat's version, which is much simpler and doesn't have the commutator problem.

    Regards,

    td

That's definitely pretty cool. Does anyone have a link to a site with some basic designs? I'd be real interested in learning how to build one myself.

    Thanks, Dave

From what I've seen playing around with diamagnetic insulation on motors - pyrolytic carbon only works at about 20% efficiency, regardless of thickness - it would have to be enhanced to be of any use.

Putting a diode across the motor coil reduces the arcing a bit.

Free Energy is real but the coverup is strong, if you are interested in a REAL free energy machine then just search for the LT MAGNET MOTOR in the youtube video search , it is probably the ONLY working magnet motor out there. Join the free energy revolution!!
