Divine Illusion is a metal band from Postojna, Slovenia, formed in 2006. At first they played only cover songs of many melodic metal bands, which was their prime focus for the time being. Author songs weren't planned to be made at that time and that was a consensus decision among the members of the band. Later they played some gigs and gathered some experience along the way, which eventually lead to the idea of making their own music. Their author songs were mainly influenced by Power metal and that soon changed, as the new songs also contain some Progressive metal elements. Music is now focused on agressive rhytm riffs, atmospheric keyboard sounds and melodic choruses. It's a direction their music will now be evolving to.
The lineup is the same, as from the day the band was founded. It consists of 5 members: Simon Simčič (vocals), Peter Smrdel (keyboards), Borut Radivojevič (guitar), Martin Valič (bass guitar), Dejan Šantelj (drums).
Divine Illusion released their first CD, called Genetic on 27.02.2010 labeled as EP or Promo disc, which features 7 author songs long approximately 30 minutes.
