"In the course of history there have been many cruel and rapacious empires and systems of imperialist exploitation, but none before have had the power at the disposal of the United States' imperialists. This constitutes a world system of oppression, and represents the true threat to peace and the true source of the danger of world nuclear war."

—Bertrand Russel (War Crimes in Vietnam, 1967)

"For over 20 years Israel has expanded by force of arms. After every stage in this expansion Israel has appealed to ‘reason’ and has suggested ‘negotiations.’ This is the traditional role of the imperial power, because it wishes to consolidate with the least difficulty what it has already taken by violence. Every new conquest becomes the new basis of the proposed negotiation from strength, which ignores the injustice of the previous aggression." cont…

When did I ever stop commenting? I respond to comment replies on 20 different vids a day, so sorry if I missed yours, or didn't respond right away (I do have a life, you know, I'm not on youtube 24/7). When did I ever get "cornered with logic"?

Actually faith is the assurance if things hoped for; the conviction of things not seen. And looking at the universe (particularly the world around us), there's complexity; things are too complex to have "just happened"

How is it probable? Faith is the antithesis of evidence.

Not just comfortable, but probable also. Supernatural, not superstition. "God appears to be an ever receding pocket of ignorance", enlightenment, hun. Btw Galileo was a firm believer to the end, even with all of his dicoveries

Because it's lucrative, because it gives us comfortable explanations in the midst of a dark and mysterious universe. It's interesting to note how mythology and superstition have receded as our scientific body of knowledge has grown. From the multitude of ancient Gods ascribed to thunder, to the Galileo's discovery that biblical geocentrism is in contradiction with observation. God appears to be an ever receding pocket of ignorance.

But why not just criticize the fundamentalism, extremism, & hypocrisy, rather than the faith itself?

There's a difference between disagreeing with a belief system and persecuting it's adherents. Of course if such a belief system in practice should undermine the freedom of others, there are arguably moral grounds to stop specific practices (not speaking solely about Christianity either).
