Ah, that's why Generations blew chunks. Studio interference.

A fitting end to a legendary character. I will regret the day they decide to kill off Picard

As the iconic Kirk said/whispered, "It was fun." IT WAS FUN! Damn all my childhood heroes are dying off.......I'll never forget watching the then- brand new original Star Trek episodes Friday nights at 10:00 with my Dad. What a show it was indeed ... May you all Live Long and Prosper.....

killing kirk just to move on? why couldn't they just make kirk retire from star fleet instead?
-
Not only did he die, but he died twice!! I mean really? What would posses you to kill James Kirk two times? The maker or writer of this movie made a lot of the characters out of character, and what the heck was with their uniforms? I have never seen Picard put on a new out fit that much in my life!!! I liked the fact that they gave data his emotion chip, and I liked the fact that we got the opportunity to see the captain of the enterprise after Kirk. It was a good movie, but I think they had to
-
@Antichrist2000 They could have left the door open for Kirk to come back. They did that much for Spock at least!!!
-
When I saw this scene, I cried unashamedly, big fat tears rolling down my face.
-
Well, when you put it THAT way... :P
-
@captaint1000 or at least they should have done it better. the kill shot was just so undignifying.
-
@mikeylikesit100 lol Maybe Picard wanted Kirk dead?

Kirk being the legend that he was, this scene was fitting. Kirk would never want to die in some federation retirement home. He would want to die doing what he loved doing.... being a Captain, which is part of why Picard never became an Admiral. He said that he always new that he would die alone..... and for the most part, he did. Maybe not the best written movie ever, but it was a good scene.
