Sorry for lack of instructions. Basically, all you gotta do is this:

Right click on the first frame and click Add Alpha Channel. Then use the Select Color tool to select the color you want to remove and then delete it. Then repeat the process for all of the frames. When you're done, save it as an animated GIF. When it shows up on an internet browser, it will be transparent with no animated garbage in the background.

  • your doing everything way to fast -,-

  • @watevaax Your brain is too slow.

  • umm i accidentaly deleted the box to the right of the pic wit the mario on it i clicked the x and idk how to get it back on there can u help me

im talking about the box with the layers on it

  • @KingJax97oncp Click Windows > Layers Dialogue. Something like that.

  • and with coloured backgrounds?

  • @LazyTownableChannel You'll have to go through each frame and manually crop your subject if the background colors are of too much variety. This is actually what I had to do with this Mario gif, but that would be too long of a tutorial. If you go to my channel I have a tutorial on using the paths tool to crop images.

  • I tried exactly the same thing, but it still leaves an animation in the background for some inexplicit reason. I would like to find out how to fix this.

Like, say I was doing a gif of a stick figure running across the image. It would still leave frames of the stick running behind. That's not what I want.

  • @ReddNinjaaa THANK YOU SO MUCH! ;D ♥

  • Now I know what I was doing wrong.. The replace instead of combine! THANK YOU! :D

  • @MrImpounds On the Toolbox menu, there's an arrow pointing to the left of the screen. Basically, click the paintbrush tool, find the part that says "Mode". Above the arrow that opens to drop down menu to change the mode to "Normal" etc, there's a tiny arrow click that. Go to Add tabs - Layers. It'll then open it up as a tab on the toolbox. You can click and drag the tab to separate it from the toolbox.

Used the paintbrush as a reference, doesn't actually matter what tool is selected. :)

  • @MishLDirnt Thank you for that, I was having the exact same troubles and couldn't find how to fix it anywhere. :)

  • @DeadBatteryVideos No YOU go so Fast

  • @terrierluv "replace" is how you spell it :) Try again.

  • @MishLDirnt This worked perfectly for mine. Thanks :3

  • @ReddNinjaaa I know a lot of people have said it already but, THANK YOU! This is exactly what I needed, you're awesome. ;)
