Many people out there believe that HDMI cables are pretty much all the same. But they are wrong, wrong, wrong! Factors such as the refresh rate, color depth, and resolution of your high-definition television all affect how much data an HDMI cable needs to be able to transmit. If your cable can't handle the load, you may be forced to watch your video at a lower resolution.

In this video, the first in a series, we explain why there is a need for our "Speed badges". These little logos appear on our HDMI cable packages and help people decide if the cable they are looking at will suit their needs.

  • wait .....did he just say hello monsters?

  • That's not to say that the best choice is Monster either. I saved over 100 bucks buying from someone else. Second, no one out there has a 1440p tv anyway (at least, not yet)

  • I ended up being convinced by this video, so I went to my local electronics shop and bought the top of the line HDMI Monster Cable they had. I paid $827,295.68, it was on sale. I can honestly say, I can now see 8 billion colors on my Zenith tv, in fact, there are colors being made that weren't even discovered yet. My tv is showing a picture more real than real life. I am very pleased, but I had to lose my house because of the cable. So I still have my tv and my cable, and I live in a shoe.

  • How do I tell what version (1.3, 1.4, etc) of my HDMI cable that is connected from my PS3 to my 3d tv is?

  • Damm he is right, PEOPLE dont buy the 1 $ HDMI cables, if you add 7 $ you can get all the thec he talked about. Dont be cheap for 8$ you get all the speed you need.

If you want to be show off buy a 8$ and glue on some diamonds all people now diamonds are the best.

  • Monster cables are so badass they actually let you see colors that normally only birds can see.

  • OK i have a question soo say if i bought a 14 dollar hdmi cable and my tv was already 720p but it could go to 1080p with hdmi if i buy a cheap hdmi cable and i gauranteed atleast the 720p with that cable if it cant hand the 1080p ?

  • @thermalz0mbie

I got one for £1 /$1 /€1 from Amazon! And its awesome!

  • What would be recommended for a hdtv 60hz 1080p connected to a PS3?
