When I first saw "Blazing Saddles" in the theater, I CRIED laughing and I haven't stopped yet! Easily one of my all-time favorites. BTW, this scene was based on a story about Sid Caesar, whom Mel Brooks wrote for (TV's "Your Show of Shows"). The horse had thrown Sid's wife, and he was about as strong as Mongo, so. . .

@equinegymnast It wasn't an insult. You provided such a clear explanation to how Mongo, who is only human, could have punched a horse. When I saw the movie, I was taken aback by Mongo's power as I wondered how a mere mortal such as Mongo can knock out a horse. I had to inquire whether you were Einstein himself because your theory has answered all questions for me :O
