SCD's Orange Super Emerald

The orange emeralds at SCD are a tests of observance, which usually means Ring Attacks!

this one is get 660 rings in Hydrocity act 1 as knuckles not counting the ring boxes at the end, which isn't easy, at least with out a lot of route planing and practice. but the challenge was originally 656 rings as sonic which is much much harder. so much so that the challenge designer decided to change it.

this challenge only took me about 10 attempts, but several of those ended up lasting over 9 minutes before I realized I had missed rings. the first time I managed 660 I realized I had forgot to record, so I had to redo it, but I managed it first try after all the practice from failed attempts.

gens+ has a "log sound" option so I made a log of the sound while I recorded with hypercam then I just edited it into the movie with a simple video editor (I used avidemux)

how did you record hypercam2 better

when the flag lands at certain spots at the end of a level a monitor will pop up out of the ground. this level has two ring boxes, one on either side of the boss chamber.

What did you mean about the ring boxes at the end? I don't ever remember encountering them.

I can't even IMAGINE getting 656 rings as sonic...good lord!

HOLY CRAP I didn't know about the rings at 1:30...WHOA!!!

I must say fuzzerd, this is quite impressive. I'm not too much of a "ring" person, I go more for times, but I've been thinking about testing my skill at some of TSC's ring records.
