As broken as Testament may be, that does not erase the simple fact that Shonen is a beast.

@Shinkada I see what you mean- TE's zoning is awfully good, and a good TE can turn most connected normals into BL loop or 1-hit BL... but I feel like his inability to escape pressure easily makes him a good candidate for rushdown and mixup, so once you get in you are rewarded and it balances out. You just have to be careful on the approach and take your time, I think.

If you've seen any of the Shounen/Ruu matches where Ruu wins the round you'll know what I mean.

@cursedvanity Honestly I think Testament is better at getting people into combos than Bridget or Venom are, which is why I think the BL loop is broken. That and, well, it has nothing to do with his traps. Bridget NEEDS his yoyos for his best combos, which accentuates his reliance on them. Testament on the other hand could, at a low tournament level, be played like a Street Fighter character and win purely because of the loop, while not using a single trap. It ruins his gameplay imo.

@Shinkada ...and as far as BL loop being tensionless is concerned...

BR and VE are able to pressure and mix up without tension and can gain the offensive out of a wide variety of situations- Testament needs EXE Beast FRC and cannot maintain pressure long unless he has traps or crow set up. What the other characters may lack in attack next to BL loop they make up for in other aspects. To be 'broken' is to be unplayable. You ought to have to guts to conquer the TE adversity yourself.

@Shinkada it's more like... I'd say BLEED, Shounen, and Ruu are all the most able examples for each respective character- I simply see it as, if the best Testament player can be beaten by 2 D-tier characters in the hands of the right player GGAC is pretty damn balanced and doesn't need a change as big as restructuring all of TE's combos as they did from slash to AC.

Everybody has big, damaging combos in AC, and some characters have an easier time leading into them than others.

Just because he's not untouchable doesn't mean Testament - or more accurately, just the Badlands loop - isn't broken.
