  • The question remains, why are the poor paying 'with their lives in the case of the hundreds of thousands of sick who are dying in poverty' for the greed of the irresponsible rich? There is no greater evil, whilst politicians are seen to be 'laughing' and 'partying' this Christmas. Deliver us in You promised Mercy dear Lord, soon, from so much deception and evil and Lord, forgive them. Amen

  • I pray for the protection of this soul. Remain 'faithful' Vince. Be strong in 'faith'. In Your Mercy Lord. Amen

  • @Dude5Sweet It worked in the 1980s under Margaret Thatcher. She privatised water, electircity, gas, BT and various other industries.

  • @MrYoungIndependence In theory but not in practice. Where has it worked in practice?

  • @Dude5Sweet Capitalism does not kill competition; the whole idea of privatisation is to give the people a choice as to how the economy is run. If capitalism is done properly, it benefits every single person because it enables them to increase their wealth without being taxed because of it.

  • @Psychotol Actually Labour was better than this government because it actually admitted to being a socialist party rather than trying to hide it by calling itself the Conservative Party.

  • @MrYoungIndependence No real choice, Labour was at least as bad, and the Lib Dems had to merge with someone in order to form a government.

Something Clegg said in response to a question about this: "If you want a Lib Dem government, then vote Lib Dem."

Still, if anything can get done in spite of this being a Tory government, it's better than nothing.

  • @Utubestolemylife

I think someone blew a raspberry at his comment.

  • Vince Cable is a formidable politician who is far better inside the tent, than outside, even if many Lib Dems are bitter about the coalition.

  • Nice words Vince. Then why are you attacking the Royal Mail?
