What's love if no love is returned? Why show it if you know you'll get burned? These questions I ask are because I show concern. Who doesn't want a girl when alone is worse? Even though other couples sit, snickering, it's worth the arguments and the bickering, if she stays next to me when slopes are slippery. Every mountain isn't easy to climb. Problems arise, and you gotta adapt to the time. She won't always love me, but at least she'll be by my side. That's all I ask from the love of my life.

We weren't born into drug abuse, I can find the roots like a mathematician does with a hypotenuse Neglected in youth to support the paternal alcoholic recluse Uncle Frank got a little physical, til the cops were called to make the impact minimal Negativity, depression, or even low self-esteem will keep you stressin Investin your time with unsavory characters to build up your own like a portfolio carrier Losing your fast-food job wasnt the first step towards making your heart stop.

@hiphopbwwsoccer Ahh I hear you. Yeah I was just reading over it and the last line got me because I just recently quit my job at Mcdonald's. I don't have any drug problems or anything but I interpreted it differently than I think you intended. That's what artistry is; for people to be able to interpret something in their own mind; like a painting on the wall. Anyways, I hear you; I look back on stuff I wrote even like three months ago and think the same, much less years old material ya know?

This was a long time ago. It's funny how much better I am now, wow.... Anyway, in trying to fit a verse with these character limits, I was just trying to highlight a few of the things that start people down the road to substance abuse. I mentioned an alcoholic uncle, self-esteem, depression, childhood neglect. With the last line, I was just pointing out that the most recent event in a life is not the cause of the drug problems. You may lose a job, but there were ten things before that.
