Hello friends! It has been a while since I've posted a new video, but I'm wrapping up 2007 with some more Lakota history. I've really had a lot of fun creating my video-comics and sharing these bits of history with you. I'm not saying this will be my last video, but 2008 may open up new doors and interests, and the projects I seek to do, including video projects, may take on a different form. Thats all part of growing.

Through the posts and messages on Youtube, I've connected with Native peoples from all around the country. That has been the best thing about these videos for me. For you, the viewer, I just hope you've taken away something that will stay with you and grow. Don't take another person's word as the truth, not even mine. Question everything, and try to see the world with a fresh perspective. Study things that peak your curiosity, you may be surprised where it will lead you. You may even see the world and yourself in a new way.

  • Wonderful tradition. Very similar to when I was young. A REAL strong and gentle hearted man makes the first move. She in turn treats him with kindness for his bravery, even if she isn't interested in him as a mate. Man being the protector, and She being the nurturer of the male energy in wisdom.

  • Your words are greatly appreciated, their dimension opens the door to understanding better than my own videos. There is so much to be said about societies whose development is heavily based on the decisions of their women.

  • Sehe ich genauso.

Ich übersetze Deinen Text mal, hoffe, das stört Dich nicht; find ich wichtig, was Du zu sagen hast :)

    translation balubaer12:

"Many so-called Americans are sooo false: you enslaved the blacks, butchered the real Americans (=Indians) and act as the world´s police today (which is not thaaat bad, but: None of you talks about his ugly past - not only are our [German] bad actions still brought up to us - at least (opposite to you) we admit it!!"

    I´d second that statement.

  • Thank you for the video. I'm happy I stumbled upon it. Was reading this: aaanativearts com/article1522 html and was like what the... the article makes it sound like the women had no say in marriage (lakota). I was thinking some of it sounded a bit wrong, and it seems it was. After watching the video it seems like catching a woman's heart was quite a challenge hehe. Not just "buying" here from the father as the article seems to claim :p

  • i've had the same experience with a girl. i was so terrified of saying anything to her because i was so crazy abiut her. and i never said anything and walked away regretfully. next time i see her...i will tell her how i feel...i can always imagine what i will say...but it's hard to say it to her face...and she's very beautiful.

  • Very lovely video, thank you for posting!

  • Duncan MacCloud lived with the Lakota for several moons before his wife was killed by the blue coats scout Kern.

  • I've met Plains Indians. You're punks. Stay where you are and stop infecting other Native tribes with your blood. There's a reason why we Native Americans are seen as savages and you're one of the reasons why.

  • Heehee! What would life be like if today's Americans (all races) lived simply like the Lakota?

I could only imagine trying to wal home, only to see male suitors lined up along the sidewalk trying to talk to me. LOL.

This is great! Thanks for this!!

  • of very high educational value!!! well done!!!
