You based this review in the assumption that they designed for thumb use. What if they didn't ? What if their intention was for it to be used in standard laptop mode ?

Scott's comments are not inaccurate. I've used the U810 and the keyboard *is* too small for two handed typing and too big for thumb typing. The U820 keyboard improves on a lot on the problematic double-mapped keys (Fn+SPACE=Tab) by adding additional keys, but it's still small.
But Scott completely misses the boat on the intended market for this device. It's business, not consumer. This is to give you the most portable PC. The key is the dock. This is a pickup and run device. Missed opportunity.

Thanks for the honest assessment and for saving me money!

No it is planned to be released in the year 2700... :EyeRoll: Yeah, it is after XP, it is very buggy and has been replaced with Windows 7. Google it!!!
Wow you are a critic... Also one of the main reasons of its being is the touchscreen. It is meant to be a tablet. I am buying one... And then installing OSX...
Scott: I am sorry your page has been devoured with so many people who didn't watch your whole video, and don't know how to use google!!! :D

question: what is windows vesta? is that a new windows operating system?

I returned mine too. Same issue....... to small to type normally on a desk and too awkward when holding.

This is completely ridiculous imo. The device is designed on purpose that way for touch typing and if you happen to stand, a little bit of thumb typing. Hence convertible fashion. Its not a slate device for thumb typing only (OQO). I have no problems typing either way but it is true its not the best thumb type. But still the device is awesome. Get rid of vista. Get an Mtron 32GB SSD + Win7. Add SSD tweaks. This thing flies. Way better than 1/2 devices on the current market feature and spec wise.

i use three fingers when i'm typing on it on laptop mode. i agree its kinda hard to use it like a blackberry but i think keyboard is designed to be used in laptop mode. the mouse cursor and buttons are on top so that u can use it while on table mode and laptop mode not because the device is designed to be used as a blackberry.

I would still want this product.
The way it is designed, namely the placement of the "mouse" makes it clear it is intended to be typed blackberry style
