Lyrics:

there are many facets hiding behind just a one
there are many places existing in present time
magic of the time itself caught in the line that breaks

oh, what is linear?
embrace the fragment
oh, what is linear?

magic of the ancient tree caught in the ancestry

history may just well turn out to be our future

sea of time
passing, passing waves

from the prehistory just a flash into morrow
from a smiling face a sudden flash into sorrow
magic in the beating heart caught in the human eye

oh, what is linear?
embrace the fragment
oh, what is linear?

magic in the formless space caught in the human face

skipping, skipping stone

history may just well turn out to be our future

sea of time
passing waves
passing, passing,
passing, passing, passing

chronic need to be in time only to fall behind

history may just well turn out to be our future
history may just well turn out to be our future
future
future
our
future

arrow of the time points at the heart of time itself
magic of the force itself requires no judgment

So, embrace
embrace
the sea of time
passing waves
sea of time
passing waves

  • The reason why this piece was arranged for choir only is that I REALLY wanted to showcase the human voice. Besides the more conventional singing there´s a lot of effects to extend the drama. (which unfortunately got somewhat buried in the noise coming from the fans of the lights). The music is interacting strongly with the lyrics, so by leaving the orchestra out, I wanted to grab the full attention of the listener to the story written.

  • gosh i had the luck to be there and meet nobuo uematsu...he is such an amazing person. great orchestra. it was perfect

  • This sounds nothing like the original song, and the lyrics are really stupid.

  • @jonnevaltonen You arranged this piece?

  • @Schokioki For the record, the Metroid arrangement at Symphonic Legends was created by Torsten Rasch.

  • @jonnevaltonen Dear Mr Valtonen,

I have to tell you that I resent your messing up the Metroid arrangement at Symphonic Legends.

    Best regards

  • Love it, but....it creeps me out for some reason. Which is good, cause music should evoke different emotions.

  • @jonnevaltonen Excellent job on this one! I would never expect an arrangement like this, but it turned out to be really great! I, too, missed the instruments a bit, but I guess it's just because I'm used to the song with all the instruments, not because the arrangement was weird, or anything of the sort. If the arrangement was supposed to be exactly the original, it would be better to have made a medley, after all.

Keep up the good work : )

  • @erikamth

Oh please, it HAS to happen (Chrono... but also Xeno *oh gawd XENO*... and a bit of Shadow Hearts....). A tribute to Mitsuda.

  • @jonnevaltonen I really think you made the best decision you only could. I am the one who know the OST for Chrono Trigger almost perfectly and was really impressed about the idea. It's something I wanted to hear on this concert so badly - a real surprise. It also showed the variety of the whole event. For me - simply outstanding, better than the original version ;).

  • Man...I didn't recognize the song until I search for the original soundtrack.
