This is an Invictus label recording by Freda Payne from the 1970's.It never got released as a single(45RPM)or even album repertoire selection after production was completed.Fortunately it found its way to two of Freda's greatest hits compilation albums;"Freda Payne/Unhooked Generation: The Complete Invictus Recordings"(2001),then on"Band Of Gold/The Best Of Freda Payne"(2002).Those are where it finally found a home.I'm glad it made it!This is a rarely known song that I think is great and is just as good and certainly rhythmic like Freda's classic hit"You Brought The Joy".This song is pretty cool the same way that one is,only is a diametrically opposite theme of"You Brought The Joy"since it involves a love affair lost, yet craved and missed in the aftermath.I hope you like it!

  • Freda's Voice, Today, Is Still Beautiful & her performances

    are "breathtaking"

  • I find it unbelievable that Ms. Payne can "slip" into a "falsetto" and it isn't even noticeable! A Beautiful Lady with Class & Intelligence!

  • OK, I CAN'T GET ENOUGH OF HER MUSIC!

WATCH SOME OF HER "INTERVIEWS" AND FALL IN LOVE WITH HER!!

  • One of my many many favorites of our Lady Freda! Should have been a big hit!

  • Agreed indeed!Thanks gayboylaca!

  • This is Freda Payne at her best.

  • I remember this from as far back as 73' when I was still in diapers. My mom played this album until the black wax was powder white. after 30 years the record was officially dead cause mom played it to death. We loved that record. We love Freda Payne. She was my mom's favorite singer -period!
