Bianca Teniente is a LeCroy Scholar who attends Brookhaven College. She plans on becoming an elementary school teacher. During her first year at Brookhaven, she served as public relations officer for the BHC Student Government Association; is a six-star member of the college's Student Leadership Institute and serves as vice president of membership for the service fraternity Alpha Phi Omega. Bianca works for the University of Texas at Dallas Callier Center where she helps youngsters ages two to five who are hearing impaired and handicapped.
"Brookhaven is close to my home and the campus is very welcoming. I see people that I know and the size of the campus makes it feel like a little school. The faculty really connect with you. They really want you to succeed. And advisors are always accessible. My Mom got her degree from DCCCD - she's a patient care coordinator and my Dad, who got his degree from UT Austin, is a special education teacher. My dream is to pursue a doctorate and start a children's theatre."
