The Dreamcast is Still Thinking

Whew. "I know, I'll just do a short video for the Dreamcast's anniversary, it won't take long."

Ten hours later, here we are. A special thanks to the nullDC emulator, which allowed me to record all this Dreamcast footage. I didn't get all the games I wanted in here, but I got all I had time for. I had planned on SA1 and House of the Dead 2, at least, but, well, too bad.

I also realize I got lazy with parts of it (timing is weird - blame Windows Movie Maker; it looked fine before I rendered it. Should've used Vegas or something), but, well, 10 hours of work. On one video. Get over it.

I posted in the nullDC forums a couple weeks ago about it and apparently the author hates gamepads. It's pretty ridiculous.

That was null DC? Wow, you got it playing pretty good, then. Mine doesn't play that clear (in most areas of say SA2) O_o

I cheated a little bit; though I do get full speed on most games, I don't get full speed when I'm recording video. Fortunately, FRAPS will force games to run at whatever framerate it's recording at, so I'd just set it to record at 30fps (half speed) to make sure I didn't get any slowdown. Then, when I made the video, I just doubled the framerate to bring it back up to normal speed.

I miss playing on the Dreamcast and waiting for new games for it! It was always so fun and enjoyable! The graphics on it were so revolutionary that they looked great and the gameplay was extreamly fun! Today's games focus on graphics and looking good...
