@felnaris Have you came into contact with the students there? or perhaps just the academics? or even the post graduate students and the researchers? To me its very difficult for you to make that claim without first hand experience. After taking a year of studies there in Komaba campus as part of the AIKOM program, i can vouch that over half or should i say only a half, do encourage multiple levels of analytical and critical thinking. its up to the student, whether they take advantage or not

I would not exactly respect the "smart" people of even Todai, I personally believe that this elitist institute does nothing but make more bureaucrats to preserve this rigid thinking of Japan's.
I do not know about universities but I cannot find respective elements in Japan's education system. It is so dull, it forces people to remember, to do it in one way. The people end up like workers of a factory. What happened to analytical thinking? And why this strong emphasis of maths?

Smart people do not necessarily have high morality and it has nothing to do with their education whatsoever. Rather, the opposite is true as smart people can figure out how to exploit the system. This sort of issue, an academic institution like Todai can do least about it. At the end of the day, it depends on individual conscience, so I don't see any relevance in your argument that we Todai graduates tend to lack morality.
