Yes your right he did. Sorrow was a big hit in UK for Bowie. It comes from his album of cover versions of his favourite songs in the 60's - PINUPS
song was written by Bob Feldman, Jerry Goldstein & Richard Gottehrer and was actually released in 1965 from The McCoys as the flip side of their "Fever" single.
