On the same day that he announced that through prudent fiscal management, Virginia had achieved a $311 million revenue surplus for FY 2011, Governor McDonnell addressed the failure of leadership in Washington to come up with a budget and the threat that default holds for Virginia and its Aaa bond rating.

  • Bob McDonnell is an EMBARRASSMENT to Virginia. And Bill Bolling will LOSE in 2013, that's a GUARANTEE.

    Faith is belief without evidence.

The Paul Ryan plan would turn it into a voucher program, then eventually get rid of it.

  • @AmericanNohbuddy Thank you for your lack of faith in someone you have never met. Does that mean that I shouldn't be allowed to opt out of these programs?

It seems like nothing has been proposed that would get rid of that program entirely. Cutting it or revamping it maybe. But getting completely rid of it is something I have not heard of. Do you have a link to a bill or an article about it?

  • @mattman624

Well too bad. I also doubt you'll be wealthy enough to sustain yourself without something like Medicare and Social Security.

You're also talking a completely different thing. They want to get rid of medicare completely, despite the fact elderly people rely on it.

  • @AmericanNohbuddy They should be cut so people have options out of the system. They weren't designed to be complete welfare, people would pay in, and they would get out. As of now rich people don't pay more than others into the system. So it really wouldn't let them keep more of their money. I (21 years old) would like the choice to not participate in the programs.

  • @mattman624

Why should medicare and social security be cut so a rich person can have more money?

  • @AmericanNohbuddy Yeah, that guy won't cut Military along with entitlements. And it looked like he might consider tax increases. Everyone should email him to make him stand firm against taxes and more military spending.

  • How his tune has changed now that his state is involved please get the derelict freshmen tea party on board!

  • Oh so NOW you realize that Northern Virginia is the big money maker in VA and it's intertwined in the federal government?

Can you please tell fellow Virginian Eric Cantor to get his act together?

  • LOL, How do you like those teahadists now?
