The 1st ever North Country Goes Green Irish Festival Donegal Beard Growing Contest was held on Jan 1 2011 at 1pm at the Sportsman Barber Shop on State St. in Watertown NY.
A Huge Thank you goes out to Sportsman Barber Shop Owner Connie Johnston and her staff Amy Mullen, Shanna Simmons. We would also like to thank Steve Hunt and Sean Hennessey for formatting this fun raiser.
It was an amazing day and we're looking forward to the big judging on March 11th at 26th Annual North Country goes Green.

What I dont understand here is why are these men getting rid of perfectly good beards when it is a beard contest? So after having the beard judged it is removed? This sort of shows that the contest is not really pro beard.
