I think I'm finally nearly at the end of the awkward stage, but the front bit is significantly shorter than the back. Should I trim the back or just leave it?

Leave it. The front always takes forever to grow long enough to reach the back. If you started growing all from the same length and measured now, you would get the same amount of inches of hair everywhere you measure. Good luck in continued long hair growth! :-)

Thanks! :-) Best thing to do in the Awkward Stage is just enjoy it and all of the fun and wild looks it brings along on your way to when your hair is very long and then falls right into place. This makes the time seem to go by much faster. Best of luck to you with your long hair.
