This is one of the nice things about liveing right next to a mainline. I heard a train go by so i looked out my door to see what it was and to my surpires it was a CSX SD80MAC. so i raced up to the nearest crossing because i saw it stop at the signals. i made it will plenty of time and while waiting i also saw the switcher a yard job and a NS train with a dash9 and a SD70M-2.

  • Nice catches. Do you know what the ID was on the NS train?

  • thanks!! i Have no idea i dont have a scanner. just a rondom guess but might be Q595 he seams to have alot of bnsf so it could be him but im not shure.

  • that slug has an alco hood?

  • what do you mean?

  • @allaboard321 I did a little digging. 1016 was either an ex alco rsd-12 rebuilt to be an mt6 slug. It seems SD40-2s or SD38S's (derated sd40-2s) are always this ones "mother"

  • ahhhhh. thanks for the info.
