@grandladybug That is the answer to your question. The Black Sun is supposedly a ball of Prima Materia that exists in the center of the earth where the Vril Ya got light from and where they extracted the Vril from. This is why Maxis exposed the Earth: so that Dempsey, Takeo, Nikolai, and Sam could destroy the Sun and stop Richtofen from getting any more power.

@grandladybug The vril has the power to destroy cities for miles around but it also has the potential to heal. It is not coincidence that the VR1L machine seen in Call of the Dead has the same name, because it is Vril that powers the machine. You see, the vril turns humans in zombies BUT vril has the power to turn them back to human. This is why Richtofen and the Vril Society (Nazis who thought Vril was real) were interested in the Vril power. But where are they getting it from?

@grandladybug This might take a few replies but I'll try and tell you what I know. To start, Shangri La is more than just a complex labyrinth of tunnels. It is an entrance to the underground home of the Vril-ya race. What are the Vril-ya? Well, in the novel The Coming Race, they are a highly advanced civilization that resemble angels. They consider themselves superior to every other race in existence. Proof of this lies in the mysterious liquid-energy that they use called Vril.
