Fresno, CA (Oct. 7, 2010) -- California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, Fresno
Police Chief Jerry Dyer and Mayor Ashley Swearengin came together today at
Fresno City Hall to honor Victor Perez, the man who recently chased down
an alleged kidnapper to rescue an 8-year-old girl.
In honor of his heroism, Swearengin and the Fresno City Council have
proclaimed today "Victor Perez Day" in the City of Fresno. Schwarzenegger
also presented Perez with a certificate of recognition for his actions.
Part of the proclamation from Swearengin and the Fresno City Council reads
as follows:
"Mr. Perez has rightfully been called a 'hero' for putting the safety of
the young girl above his own and for throwing fear out the window,
resulting in a positive conclusion to a search effort that included
hundreds of committed law enforcement personnel as well as volunteers who
answered the call to help someone in need."
You know you're a boss when even the Governator says so.
