Thats good info to know. I've got a small cascade I started this year that I want to take a number of root cuttings from for next spring, and the harvest on it seems worth doing in the next few days. What a prolific grower and producer, really impressed with the speed and vigor the hops takes on. Excited to expand it out a whole lot next year. Best of luck to you, keep sharing the great videos!

Hey, did you find that the vacuum bags crushed the hops?

well sure it crushes them up a bit but that is not a problem. they go into the boil pot just the same. :)

thanks for the video! Wondering what you use to decide when the hops are dry enough to go into the vacuum packing... Is it a certain ratio of wet to dry weight that you are going for or some other gauge?
Thanks so much!

Yes that is right. When dry they are about 1/5 of the wet weight. Example, 35 oz wet becomes about 7 oz dry. I have read that this is the way to look at it, and in my own experience it seems to work that way too. Good luck. (Oh, For me this takes 2 days of sitting on a screen in the garage).
