Released in the summer of 1986, the Duck Calls were an ingenius promotional campaign designed to herald the arrival of the "Howard The Duck" feature film. These fun 2-minute calls could be heard by dialing 1-900-410-DUCK and listening to a different message every day, featuring new and exclusive interviews (by Howard's voice actor Chip Zien) mixed with audio clips from the movie. The Duck Calls served to add a degree of backstory to Howard's character and helped to flesh out some of the material only hinted at in the film itself. Each of these four YouTube segments collect 4 or 5 of these long-lost phone messages. In this collection are the following Duck Calls:
- Howard interviews his Earth friends
- Howard performs his "Duck Rap"
- Howard is interviewed by Barbara Waters
- Howard gives advice on nutrition
You know you want to give them a spin, so go on and get quacking!
