Amtrak Las Vegas Special on 6/25/08

1) Southwest Chief #3 (7 hrs late)
2) P42(193)
3) Amtrak Special headed to Union Station L.A from Las Vegas trip. (It took 6 hrs from Vegas to L.A)
4) Amtrak Special - out of service , went back to the yard and washed.

6 hours from Vegas to L.A., that is very good reasonable time. I wish it would be permanent. I will do anything for an L.A. to Vegas train, I'll take whatever comes first:

Amtrak, Desert Express, X-Train, Z-Train, or Maglev. With all these options, something has to happen!

Amtrak should do a weekend special to Vegas, leave L.A. Thursday and Fridays, and return Saturdays and Sundays from Vegas.

A train from LAX to Las Vegas (or even OKJ/BFD to Las Vegas in worst case) is the biggest no brainer of them all!

@singwith Ya that would require a lot of equipment to be transfered-look at the horizons and heritage cars-you'd have to reconfigure the shops in LA to fix problems in case somethign broke on the single-level cars.

I think NTSB needs to let Class 1 Railroads bring Passenger service back, they can do a better job
