A Bright and very breezy days fishing on a small moorland stream,
fishing various dry fly patterns we caught a few small brown trout as we worked our way up stream.
The most effective patterns were cdc & elk and a small black foam beetle which was probably the most effective of the flies we fished.
We were both fishing 7ft 4wt Superfast cane rods, the faster action definitely helping to punch a loop into the gusty down stream wind.

  • Wow..Beautiful countryside.

  • @davidsquall351. Thank you David it is a lovely place to spend a day or two.

  • Lovely scenery! I love fishing these small streams for little native trouts; though I have never done it with a bamboo rod (I wish I have one). Thank you for sharing your experience.

  • @tytytji. Small stream fishing is great fun, just a few casts in each good looking spot then a couple of paces up stream to the next hole, most of the time they seem to hit the fly as soon as it touches the water or not at all.

  • Nice video, you can't beat small stream fishing for brownies, each stream has fish with there own colour and marking's.ATB Steve.

  • @stevesnaps1. Thanks Steve. It is amazing how much they can vary from one stream to another.
